Hatsun Agro Product Limited has launched 'Go-Dhan', a flagship initiative in partnership with the Government of Odisha and State Bank of India to empower dairy farmers. The program aims to benefit 6,000 dairy farmers across 15 districts by improving access to finance and modern practices.
The initiative was formally launched at the OUAT Auditorium in Bhubaneswar on September 28, 2026. Key stakeholders present included Sri Prem Chand Chaudhary, Secretary of the Department of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Government of Odisha; Sri Shubhranshu, Managing Director of APICOL; Sri Rakesh Kumar Yadav, Chief General Manager of State Bank of India; and R. G. Chandramogan, Chairman of Hatsun Agro Product Ltd.
Strategic objectives and financial support
Go-Dhan is designed to provide participating farmers with greater access to institutional finance and government support schemes. The initiative seeks to leverage subsidies such as the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY) to help farmers access affordable capital. This funding is intended for investments in quality bovine breeds, improved cattle housing, farm mechanisation, nutrition, and herd health.
R. G. Chandramogan stated that the company aims to support the establishment of more than 6,000 dairy farms over the next three years in a phased manner. The objective is to improve farmer incomes, encourage scientific dairy farming, and create a sustainable ecosystem in the state.
Regional expansion and market focus
Hatsun Agro intends to produce and procure milk within Odisha to create value for local farmers while meeting consumer demand. The company plans to export this milk to neighbouring markets, including West Bengal, North Andhra Pradesh, and other nearby states. This strategy aims to strengthen the regional dairy economy and unlock agricultural potential in the region.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment among the dairy, financial, and government sectors to strengthen farmer livelihoods. Hatsun Agro emphasized that strengthening dairy farming creates a positive impact on primary agriculture by providing farmers with a stable source of income.
