Apple Inc is reportedly planning a second product launch around October 27, following its October 13 "Welcome Home" event focused on new smart home products.
Touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro expected
The October 27 announcement could include MacBook Pro models featuring OLED displays and touchscreens. Bloomberg reported on Thursday that these internally named K114 and K116 models may be thinner and lighter than current iterations. The new laptops might also incorporate a Dynamic Island interface similar to those found on iPhones.
While previous rumors suggested the devices might be branded as MacBook Ultra, the latest report indicates they will remain part of the Pro lineup. The tech giant has been working on OLED MacBooks for several years.
iPad mini and M6 Macs in pipeline
Apple is also scheduled to launch an OLED iPad mini and M6-powered Macs on the same day. The upcoming iPad mini could feature a landscape-oriented front camera for improved video calls and a redesigned speaker system. The launch will also include an M6-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac, according to people familiar with the matter.
Both events will include online video presentations and in-person sessions for the press. Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
