This marks the eighth consecutive year the company has issued reports consistent with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations.
Innovation and Operational Efficiency
Travelers has embarked on "Innovation 2.0" to capitalize on opportunities presented by artificial intelligence. The company reports that more than 20,000 employees use AI tools regularly, with dozens of generative AI tools in production and agentic AI embedded in business operations. Millions of transactions have been automated as part of this initiative.
Community and Civic Engagement
Travelers and the Travelers Foundation contributed approximately $24 million to local communities, with employees logging more than 125,000 volunteer hours. A notable donation included a $1 million commitment to The Wadsworth in Hartford, Connecticut, to restore public hours. Additionally, the company’s civic engagement program, Citizen Travelers℠, has seen over 150 employees assume civic leadership positions as of May 2026.
Disaster Preparedness and Response
The company resolved 90% of property catastrophe claims within 30 days, responding to 62 catastrophe events and over 80,000 notices of loss. To expedite claims for the January 2025 Palisades and Eaton fires in Southern California, Travelers utilized high-resolution aerial imagery, geospatial analytics, and AI to identify total losses and assign claims to disaster specialists.
Environmental Impact
Travelers has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from owned operations by 54% since 2011. The company aims to become carbon-neutral across its owned operations by 2030. As part of this effort, a solar array system was installed at its Claim University campus in Windsor, Connecticut, to largely offset energy consumption at the site.
