Bloomberg New Economy has confirmed the initial speaker lineup for the eighth edition of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, scheduled for October 13-15, 2026, in New Delhi. The event, themed "A World in Play: Defining the New Levers of Power," will convene more than 500 public and private sector leaders to address global economic challenges.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads the Indian government delegation. Attending senior ministers include Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs; S. Jaishankar, Union Minister of External Affairs; and Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry. Other Indian attendees include Jagat Prakash Nadda, Piyush Goyal, Pralhad Joshi, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Jitendra Singh.

Karen Saltser, CEO of Bloomberg Media, stated that India occupies a position of great consequence in the global economy. She noted that the forum reflects the optimism and responsibility India carries as the center of gravity in global affairs shifts.

Erik Schatzker, Editorial Director of Bloomberg New Economy, described the global economy as entering a fractious new chapter defined by competition for resources, trade, and technology. He emphasized that the program is built to confront divisions that make dialogue necessary.

Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the need for mutual trust and open markets in a world navigating geopolitical uncertainty. He linked the event to the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ and deeper international economic cooperation.

Dr. S. Jaishankar noted that the global order is undergoing rebalancing and structural changes. He stated that India’s approach involves issue-based collaboration and bridging divides.
