Tiger Logistics (India) Limited reported a significant decline in quarterly profitability for the first quarter of FY27, with net profit falling more than half year-on-year despite strong top-line growth. The logistics services company posted a net profit of ₹216.99 lakh for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared to ₹470.68 lakh in the same period of FY26. This represents a decline of 53.9% in bottom-line earnings.
Revenue from operations expanded by 48.8% to ₹15,252.50 lakh, up from ₹10,251.87 lakh in Q1FY26. However, this growth was accompanied by a sharper rise in costs. Operating expenses increased by 58.6% to ₹14,165.34 lakh, outpacing revenue growth and leading to a compression in operating margins. Employee benefit expenses rose 14.4% to ₹568.52 lakh, while finance costs jumped 46.3% to ₹123.61 lakh.
What the Numbers Show
The divergence between revenue growth and expense inflation is the defining feature of this quarter’s performance. While topline revenue grew nearly 49%, operating expenses grew by nearly 59%, indicating that the company did not fully leverage its scale during the period. Consequently, the profit before tax fell 53.9% to ₹290.00 lakh from ₹629.80 lakh in the prior year. The effective tax rate also saw volatility, with current tax expenses dropping significantly to ₹72.99 lakh from ₹158.52 lakh in the previous year, partly offsetting the decline in pre-tax profits.
