Tata Consultancy Services has partnered with the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) to modernise its market infrastructure through a next-generation integrated trading, clearing, and surveillance solution. The agreement was announced on September 15, 2026.

The transformation programme aims to provide DGCX with a flexible technology foundation to support future growth, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate product development. It will also strengthen the exchange's ability to respond to evolving needs of regional and international market participants across established and emerging asset classes.

Technology Stack

TCS will deliver a world-class platform by integrating several proprietary solutions:

  • TCS BaNCSâ„¢ for Market Infrastructure for central counterparty clearing
  • Quartzâ„¢ for Surveillance to monitor and detect market manipulation, fraud, and abnormalities
  • TCS BaNCS Securities Trading to help market participants trade across assets
  • TCS' Quartz Gateway for industry-standard market connectivity, combined with generative AI-powered reporting, analytics, and decision-making
  • Exchange trading and matching from a global exchange partner

These solutions are part of TCS' BFSI Products and Platforms business group, which supports leading financial markets with intelligent and resilient ecosystems.

Strategic Context

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DGCX, stated that the partnership builds on recent momentum, including strong trading volumes in 2025 and the launch of innovative products such as the Gold Spot T+0 Contract. He noted that Dubai is already one of the world's major centres for commodities and capital flows.

R. Vivekanand, President of BFSI Products and Platforms at TCS, highlighted that financial market infrastructures are at a pivotal moment balancing rapid innovation with resilience, security, and operational robustness. He added that TCS' expertise in delivering mission-critical solutions across global markets positions it to support DGCX on this transformation journey.

Product Expansion

The new platform will support DGCX's range of derivatives products across energy commodities, currencies, equities, bullion, and precious metals. It will also provide infrastructure for expansion into emerging asset classes such as crypto and tokenised assets. This follows the launch in June 2026 of the Gold Spot T+0 Contract, the GCC's first same-day physically settled spot gold product offered on a regulated exchange.

TCS generated consolidated revenues of over US$30 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.

Tata Consultancy Services has launched India's first lights-out factory lab in Pune, designed to advance AI-first manufacturing through autonomous operations.

What the lab showcases

The TCS Industrial Autonomy & Engineering Lab – Lights-Out Factory, located at the Sahyadri Park campus in Pune, demonstrates how manufacturing assembly lines can operate with minimal human intervention. The facility integrates three core technology pillars to enable self-optimizing factory operations:

  • Artificial intelligence: Enabling self-optimizing factory operations and predictive maintenance
  • Robotics: Automating physical manufacturing processes, including a fully robotic battery pack assembly line
  • Digital twins: Creating virtual replicas of factory environments for real-time monitoring, simulation, and validation before deployment

The lab also incorporates factory control systems, vision AI, and sensor-to-cloud industrial intelligence to connect shop-floor signals with edge and cloud platforms for context-aware decision-making.

Significance for Indian manufacturing

The facility marks a milestone as the first of its kind in India, positioning Tata Consultancy Services at the forefront of industrial automation research and development. It addresses key challenges in translating Industry 4.0 concepts into practical operating models by providing a controlled setting for manufacturers to prototype, validate, and scale AI-first production systems.

This launch complements TCS' earlier initiative in Bengaluru, where it launched the TCS Industrial Autonomy & Engineering Lab Powered by NVIDIA earlier this year to accelerate Physical AI innovation for industrial and mobility applications.

Industry perspective

Joakim Landholm, SVP Commercial & Operations Development at SKF, noted that reducing friction is central to industrial progress, stating that the next wave of manufacturing will depend on smarter, more energy-efficient, and reliable operations. He viewed the lab as an important step in helping industry translate advanced automation into measurable operational value.

Sreenivasa Chakravarti, Global Head & Vice President of Industrial Autonomy and Engineering at TCS, emphasized that the facility helps customers turn their aspiration of lights-out manufacturing into reality. He highlighted how the Human + AI model enables enterprises to progress from digitally enabled operations to increasingly autonomous production systems.
