Tata Consultancy Services subsidiary HyperVault has secured 264 acres in Hyderabad to develop a large-scale AI data center campus. The project aims for up to 1GW capacity with an investment of up to Rs 70,000 crore.

The campus will serve frontier AI companies and hyperscalers, focusing on high-density GPU deployments for training and inference. Development will proceed in phases aligned with customer demand. At full build-out, it is expected to rank among India’s most advanced AI infrastructure campuses.

Infrastructure Details

HyperVault plans to leverage green energy and water-neutral design principles. The facility will feature liquid-cooled compute infrastructure, including direct-to-chip cooling and high rack density. This setup supports larger power blocks and faster deployment cycles required by modern AI workloads.

Strategic Context

K Krithivasan, CEO and MD of TCS, stated that HyperVault advances the company’s Infrastructure-to-Intelligence strategy. He highlighted Hyderabad’s scale, talent, and ecosystem as key factors for serving global customers.

Deepesh Kiran Nanda, CEO and MD of HyperVault, noted the focus on building infrastructure for higher density and liquid cooling. He emphasized the foundation provided by Hyderabad for scaling operations for frontier AI firms.

Government Support

Shri A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, called the project historic for India. He noted that access to AI models and compute is becoming public infrastructure, giving Telangana a strategic advantage.

IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the agreement followed discussions between the Chief Minister and N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, at Davos in January 2026. He cited the speed of execution as a reflection of the state’s investment-friendly policies.
