Shri Suprakash Adhikari holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology, Shibpur (formerly B.E. College, Shibpur). He commenced his professional career at NHPC Limited as a Probationary Executive (Electrical) in December 1990 and brings over 36 years of experience in the implementation of hydro projects, spanning all areas of hydropower development from inception to commissioning, as well as Operation and Maintenance (O&M).

Shri Adhikari has been serving as Director (Technical) of NHPC Limited since April 16, 2025. He also chairs the Board of Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited, a Joint Venture of NHPC and UPNEDA. Prior to joining the NHPC Board, he headed several key divisions as Executive Director. His notable contributions include:

• Led operational excellence initiatives as Head of the O&M Division at NHPC Ltd., resulting in record annual generation, highest-ever Plant Availability Factor (PAF), and reduced forced outages
