Shyam Metalics Q1 FY27 sales surge led by Pig Iron and Pellet

Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited reported a significant surge in sales volumes for the first quarter of FY27, primarily driven by the Pig Iron and Pellet segments, following the stabilization of newly commissioned production facilities. The company disclosed its consolidated sales performance for the month and quarter ended June 30, 2026, highlighting broad-based growth in average realizations across most product lines on a year-on-year basis.
The Pig Iron segment witnessed a substantial 156.52% year-on-year increase in sales volumes for June FY27, reaching 95,508 MT compared to 37,232 MT in the previous year. This growth was supported by the commissioning of a 0.77 MTPA Blast Furnace at the Jamuria facility in November 2024 and an additional 0.45 MTPA Blast Furnace at the Ramsarup facility in December 2025. Quarterly volumes for Pig Iron rose by 42.11% to 2,89,201 MT, with average realizations increasing by 5.09% to ₹38,800 per MT.
The Pellet segment also demonstrated robust performance, with monthly sales volumes jumping 92.26% year-on-year to 1,55,563 MT in June FY27. On a quarterly basis, volumes increased by 40.50% to 3,91,074 MT, while average realizations stood at ₹9,057 per MT. The company noted that realizations for Pellet decreased by 5.22% on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
Stainless Steel and Aluminium Foil Performance
Shyam Metalics recorded strong growth in its Stainless Steel and Aluminium Foil businesses. Stainless Steel sales volumes for June FY27 grew 40.21% year-on-year to 7,942 MT, with average realizations rising 23.15% to ₹1,76,588 per MT. However, quarterly volumes for this segment declined by 14.84% compared to the previous quarter, totaling 23,237 MT.
The Aluminium Foil segment saw a 20.68% year-on-year increase in monthly sales volumes to 2,151 MT, coupled with a 39.32% rise in average realizations to ₹5,03,400 per MT. Quarterly volumes showed a modest increase of 0.86% to 5,606 MT, with realizations improving by 18.65% to ₹4,83,467 per MT.
Operational Updates and Other Segments
The company commissioned Phase II of its Colour Coated Steel Plant, adding 0.15 MTPA of capacity at its Jamuria facility in April 2026, bringing the total capacity to 0.40 MTPA. Consequently, the CR Coil/ CR Sheets segment reported a 53.46% year-on-year surge in monthly sales volumes to 18,293 MT. Average realizations for this segment increased by 20.53% year-on-year and 10.67% quarter-on-quarter.
In the Carbon Steel segment, which includes Steel Billet and Long Steel Products, monthly sales volumes increased by 16.53% year-on-year to 1,48,711 MT. However, quarterly volumes decreased by 11.02% to 4,04,858 MT. The Speciality Alloys segment reported a marginal 0.75% year-on-year increase in monthly volumes to 16,888 MT, with realizations rising 21.70% to ₹1,09,775 per MT.
