Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited has approved a revision in capital expenditure to ₹184 Crores for the expansion of its Kolkata Medium Voltage Components (KMVC) facility. The decision, taken by the Board of Directors on July 3, 2026, aims to enhance manufacturing capacity for Medium Voltage (MV) Vacuum Interrupters from 180,000 units per annum to 250,000 units per annum. This revision marks an increase of ₹46 Crores from the initial approval of ₹138 Crores granted in September 2022.
The expanded capacity is scheduled to be operational by the first quarter of FY 2028-29, specifically by June 30, 2028. The existing facility currently operates at approximately 90% utilization, producing 80,000 MV Vacuum Interrupters annually. The investment will also facilitate the addition of MV Vacuum Circuit Breakers assembly lines.
