Peraso Inc. and Virewirx, Inc. have successfully demonstrated a simulated drone wireless communication environment featuring a high-capacity network cluster with a peak aggregate data capacity of more than 50Gbps. The demonstration, held on June 10, 2026, utilized Peraso's 60 GHz wireless semiconductor solutions and Virewirx's VX60 High Performance Wireless Network to create a resilient, GPS-independent networking system. This capability addresses the need for high-throughput communication in contested and congested environments where traditional sub-60 GHz technologies may fail.

The test involved simultaneously transmitting several independent multi-gigabit data streams within a confined space. The setup highlighted the advantages of 60 GHz wireless, specifically its ability to operate effectively in highly congested wireless environments. Key features demonstrated include a low probability of intercept and detection (LPI/LPD) and a low probability of jamming, which are critical for mission-critical systems and drone warfare where adversaries employ electronic countermeasures.

Technology Integration and Capabilities

The collaboration integrates Peraso's 60 GHz solution with Virewirx's network synchronization technology to maintain coordination without GPS. This ensures reliable operation in GPS-denied environments, which is essential for emerging drone swarm applications. The Virewirx VX60 network controller is designed to manage large numbers of autonomous devices, preventing communication conflicts while maintaining network resilience during individual unit failures.

Commercial and Industrial Applications

Beyond defense, the VX60 network architecture targets dense clusters of autonomous devices in commercial and industrial sectors. The technology supports large fleets of robots in automated factories, enabling hundreds of independent multi-gigabit links to operate simultaneously without physical separation or shielding. The high throughput also facilitates the transfer of data-intensive AI models between edge devices and centralized computing resources, enhancing the capabilities of autonomous robots and vehicles.
