He is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of ONGC Tripura Power Company and serves on the boards of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, OGL One Ltd., and Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd.

Kumar's extensive career includes leadership positions in engineering, project management, and corporate strategy. Previously serving as Executive Director – Chief Corporate Strategy, he played a key role in shaping ONGC's roadmap into petrochemicals, LNG, and green energy. He has also led critical infrastructure projects, including captive power plants and the Hazira–Dahej naphtha pipeline.
