Mahindra & Mahindra introduced the BE 6 SPORTEQ, a new series of its electric SUV, on August 15, 2026. The launch marks an expansion of the company’s electric vehicle portfolio with a focus on software-defined capabilities and flexible ownership models through Battery as a Service (BaaS). Deliveries for the new series are scheduled to begin on August 26, 2026, coinciding with the Onam festival.
Pricing and Variants
The BE 6 SPORTEQ is available in eight variants: ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE+, FOUR, FE, FE FOUR, and Launch Edition. The entry-level ONE variant with BaaS starts at ₹11.45 lakh, while the fully owned version begins at ₹19.45 lakh. The BaaS option includes a battery rental cost of ₹3.75 per kilometer, based on an assumed usage of 60 km per day.

Technology and Features
The SPORTEQ series emphasizes its status as a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), powered by MAIA, Mahindra’s Artificial Intelligence Architecture. Key technological enhancements include:
- Digital Cockpit: Variants from TWO upwards feature a three-screen coast-to-coast display. The Formula E Freedom Edition retains a two-screen setup with a signature halo design.
- TEQ Suites: Six new suites enhance connectivity and personalization:
- TEQ_Talk: Powered by Google Gemini for natural language interaction.
- TEQ_Play: Includes karaoke and in-car gaming, claimed as firsts among Indian OEMs.
- TEQ_Drive: Offers custom drive modes and acceleration boost.
- TEQ_Me: Enables user profile auto-detection.
- TEQ_Secure: Provides Secure360 Pro monitoring and CCC-compliant digital car key functionality across multiple device ecosystems.
- TEQ_xting: Allows personalized tailgate messaging.
Existing owners of the BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S will receive these software updates via over-the-air (OTA) phases starting January 2027.
Special Editions
Two distinct editions were unveiled alongside the standard range:
- Launch Edition: Features a Graphite Storm exterior and Racing Tan leatherette interior.
- Formula E Freedom Edition: Inspired by Mahindra Racing’s Formula E campaign, this performance-focused variant includes an Acceleration Boost capability (0-100 km/h in 6.44 seconds) and exclusive Satin color finishes like Rosso Impulso.
