Infosys has expanded its presence in Central India with the inauguration of a new 330,000-sq. ft. Software Development Block (SDB-2) at its Indore campus on September 16, 2026. The facility strengthens the company’s capabilities in AI, cloud, and cybersecurity.

The event was attended by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, alongside Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka. The expansion supports the company’s strategy to leverage the region’s growing talent ecosystem.

Expansion Details

The new block is part of Infosys’ broader investment in digital infrastructure. The Indore Development Center currently employs more than 3,300 staff members serving global clients in BFSI, Retail, Life Sciences, and Manufacturing.

The center will deepen engagement with local academic institutions, including IIT Indore, IIM Indore, and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), through skilling programs.

ESG and Operational Focus

The facility aligns with high-performance green building standards. It features low-energy cooling, smart automation, rainwater harvesting, and wastewater recycling. Amenities include flexible workstations and wellness centers.

Jayesh Sanghrajka stated the expansion reflects ongoing investment in talent and innovation to deliver value to global clients through AI-first business consulting.

Infosys Foundation announced a ₹31 crore grant to Madras Medical College on September 9, 2026. The funding supports the inauguration of a cardio-obstetric outpatient unit and a catheterization laboratory at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai.

The initiative aims to strengthen maternal healthcare by addressing cardiac complications during pregnancy. The new facilities are located at the Institute of Cardiology within the hospital, which is run by the college.

Facility Inauguration and Leadership

Dr. K. G. Arunraj, Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, graced the inauguration ceremony. Dr. Darez Ahamed, Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, Tamil Nadu, also attended. Dr. K. Shantharaman, Dean of Madras Medical College and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, was present alongside Mr. Anil Kumar P. N., Senior Vice President and Center Head, Chennai, Infosys.

Research and Past Collaboration

The grant contributes to managing patients under the National Pregnancy and Cardiac Diseases (NPAC) study. This is described as the largest global single-center study on pregnancy-related heart disease. The funds also support the Tamil Nadu Pregnancy and Heart Disease Registry (TNPHDR), cited as the largest registry in this domain worldwide.

This collaboration builds on previous efforts. In August 2024, Infosys Foundation inaugurated a special facility at the Institute of Social Obstetrics. That facility included a high-risk antenatal ward and critical care units for cardiac complications among pregnant women.

Strategic Focus

Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar, Trustee of Infosys Foundation, stated the aim is to enhance maternal care and reduce mortality from cardiac complications during pregnancy. The support also drives research for better healthcare solutions for women across India.

Dr. K. Shantaraman noted that the new units will help establish the college as a national and international leader in maternal healthcare and research.
