Bank of India recorded a 21.07% year-on-year increase in its global business, reaching ₹18,91,663 crore as on September 30, 2026. The public sector lender disclosed these provisional figures in a filing to stock exchanges.

The growth was primarily driven by a robust expansion in the deposit base, which rose 21.60% YoY to ₹10,37,618 crore. Gross advances also witnessed significant traction, climbing 20.43% from the previous year to stand at ₹8,54,045 crore.

Domestic portfolio performance

Domestic operations showed strong momentum, particularly on the liability side. Domestic deposits grew by 23.30% YoY to ₹9,00,218 crore, outpacing the global deposit growth rate. Meanwhile, domestic gross advances increased by 17.70% to ₹7,03,085 crore.

The bank's Retail and Agri (RAM) segment continued to expand, with gross RAM advances (domestic) rising 18.57% YoY to ₹4,12,271 crore.

What the numbers show

A divergence exists between the growth rates of domestic deposits (23.30%) and domestic gross advances (17.70%). This indicates that the bank is accumulating liquidity at a faster pace than it is deploying it into credit within the domestic market during this quarter.

How will Bank of India deploy its excess domestic liquidity to narrow the gap between deposit and advance growth rates in upcoming quarters?

What impact might the 23.30% surge in domestic deposits have on the bank's Net Interest Margin (NIM) given the slower 17.70% growth in advances?

Are there specific strategic initiatives planned to accelerate credit growth in the non-RAM corporate segment to balance the portfolio?
