Ather Energy introduced Konarc, its new electric scooter, at the fourth edition of Ather Community Day in Bengaluru on August 29, 2026. The company’s CEO predicts the new model will generate over 50% of total revenue within a year of its launch.

Konarc is built on Ather's new EL platform and will be available in S and Z product lines. The S line offers four variants with IDC ranges of 100 km, 125 km, 161 km, and 200 km. The Z line comprises two variants with ranges of 125 km and 161 km. Deliveries will begin in mid-September in a phased manner across select cities before expanding nationwide.

Pricing and Variants

The pricing structure reflects the range capabilities of each variant. The entry-level model targets affordability while higher-end variants offer extended range and exclusive color options.

Variant Range (IDC) Price (ex-showroom Bengaluru)
Konarc S 100 km 100 km ₹99,999
Konarc S 125 km 125 km ₹1,21,999
Konarc S 161 km 161 km ₹1,44,999

Steel Blue and Claret Red colors are available exclusively on the higher-end Z variants. Other available colors include Quartz White, Lumen Copper, Celestial Gold, and Majestic Grey.

Technology and Features

Konarc introduces several new technologies designed to simplify ownership. The scooter features an Advanced Electronic Braking System (AeBS™), which dynamically adjusts braking force based on road conditions using software and sensors. This system works with the existing drive controller to reduce stopping distances and prevent wheel lock-ups.

Other key features include:

  • MagicKey: Allows riders to wake, unlock, and locate the scooter remotely without removing the key fob.
  • AutoPop™: Opens the under-seat storage automatically when triggered from a distance.
  • AirWalk™: Provides mild assistive torque when moving the scooter manually.

Battery Warranty and Service

All Konarc variants come with fifth-generation Bedrock™ batteries backed by a 10-year or 1,00,000 km warranty, whichever is earlier. This extends the previous eight-year coverage while guaranteeing a minimum 70% state of health at the end of the period. The warranty covers battery failures and defects, including periods of non-use.

The new platform introduces BreachSense™, a real-time monitoring system designed to detect microscopic damage following high-impact accidents. It also features five times higher cell-balancing capability than the previous generation, expecting batteries to reach 70% state of health at approximately 1 lakh to 1.2 lakh km, compared to 80,000 to 1,00,000 km for the previous generation.

Service intervals have been doubled to 10,000 km, roughly once a year for most riders. The platform design reduces the number of checkpoints during service visits and improves access to wear-and-tear components.

Charging and Health Services

Ather also launched AtherNode™, a charging solution for apartment communities that uses a central gateway to manage up to 1,000 chargers within a single complex. It dynamically distributes power to avoid exceeding sanctioned load limits.

Additionally, Ather True Health™ provides a comprehensive vehicle health report and estimated resale value for eligible scooters that have completed three years on the road with AtherStack™ Pro. It combines data on age, kilometres ridden, riding behaviour, and component condition to generate a health score out of five.

What the Numbers Show

The CEO's projection that Konarc will contribute over 50% of revenue within a year underscores the strategic pivot toward this new platform. Given the base variant starts at ₹99,999, significantly lower than the top-tier S 161 km variant at ₹1,44,999, the pricing spread suggests a volume-driven strategy aimed at mass-market adoption rather than premium exclusivity.
