Arkade Developers submitted its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for FY26 to the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange on August 27, 2026. The filing outlines the company’s environmental, social, and governance metrics alongside its corporate social responsibility performance for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

The Mumbai-based real estate developer reported a turnover of ₹81,608.81 lakh and a net worth of ₹88,212.25 lakh during the reporting period. These figures triggered the applicability of Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, mandating the disclosure of CSR activities. The company’s paid-up capital stood at ₹18,566.36 lakh as of the end of the financial year.

Sustainability and Environmental Metrics

Arkade Developers disclosed significant environmental data points in its standalone report. Total energy consumption from non-renewable sources rose to 5,807.417 GJ in FY26, up from 2,761.58 GJ in the previous year. This increase coincided with a rise in water withdrawal from third-party sources to 53,480.5 kilolitres, compared to 45,463.1 kilolitres in FY25. The company noted that water is primarily sourced through authorized tanker suppliers for construction activities such as concrete batching and dust suppression.

Greenhouse gas emissions also saw a shift in composition. Scope 1 emissions dropped sharply to 21.977 metric tonnes of CO2 equivalent, down from 175.556 metric tonnes in FY25. However, Scope 2 emissions nearly doubled to 1,116.06 metric tonnes, resulting in a combined total of 1,138.04 metric tonnes for FY26. Waste generation increased to 13,908.53 metric tonnes, driven largely by construction and demolition waste.

Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives

The company exceeded its statutory CSR spending target with an outlay of ₹350.01 lakh. Key beneficiaries included Tata Memorial Hospital for cancer patient treatment and the National Association of Blind for educational support. A major initiative through The Sajjan Jain Support Trust benefited over 1.5 lakh individuals, primarily construction workers and underserved communities, through food distribution, health support, and hydration drives.

Workforce and Governance

Arkade employed 262 permanent staff members, with women comprising 23.28% of the workforce. The company reported zero lost-time injuries for both employees and workers. However, it recorded nine total recordable work-related injuries among contractual workers, an increase from four in the prior year. The board includes one female director, representing 16.67% of the total membership.

What the Numbers Show

The divergence between Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions highlights a structural shift in the company’s carbon footprint. While direct fuel-based emissions (Scope 1) fell by over 87%, indirect emissions from purchased electricity (Scope 2) surged by more than 116%. This suggests that operational energy intensity at project sites may be rising faster than direct fuel consumption declines, warranting closer monitoring of grid electricity usage efficiency in future reporting periods.

Arkade Developers has received the Occupation Certificate for its residential project in Vile Parle, marking the completion of the development as planned.
