Greaves Cotton Limited subsidiary Ampere has launched the new Nexus EX+ electric scooter, upgrading its award-winning platform with a 5-kW motor and IoT-enabled Intellipack. The launch aims to enhance performance and connectivity for Indian riders.
The new model delivers stronger pick-up with 0-40 kmph acceleration in 4.5 seconds and improved gradeability for steep climbs and hilly terrain. It features peak 202 Nm torque at the wheel, addressing demands for load-bearing use cases and flyovers.

The Nexus EX+ integrates Intellipack, Ampere's IoT suite accessible via the Ampere Connect App. This system offers over 30 intelligent features, including real-time charging status, live tracking, geo-fencing, and remote vehicle diagnostics. The scooter utilizes next-generation LFP battery technology designed for a long battery life of 2,00,000 km, supported by a 5-year/75,000 km warranty.

Pricing and Availability
Ampere has adopted a two-variant strategy to cater to different customer segments. The base model focuses on value, while the higher variant includes the connected technology suite.
- Nexus EX+: ₹1,29,999
- Nexus EX+ with Intellipack: ₹1,35,999
The scooters are available in two premium colors: Carbon Knight and Steel Grey. They will be sold across Ampere dealerships nationwide. Vikas Singh, Managing Director of Greaves Electric Mobility, stated that the upgrade strengthens the platform's focus on durability and real-world performance.
What the Numbers Show
The pricing structure reveals a clear segmentation strategy: the ₹6,000 premium for the Intellipack variant represents approximately 4.6% of the base price. This low incremental cost suggests Ampere is prioritizing rapid adoption of its IoT ecosystem over immediate margin expansion from software features, aiming to lock users into the Ampere Connect App for long-term engagement and data insights.
