Acrow has completed the installation of two modular steel bridges on the Cedar Point Causeway in Sandusky, Ohio, ensuring uninterrupted access to the 364-acre amusement park operated by Six Flags. The temporary structures were deployed to facilitate smoother traffic flow during the 2026 operating season and ahead of a major multi-year infrastructure improvement project scheduled to begin in fall 2026. The causeway, which connects the Lake Erie peninsula to the mainland, is set for reconstruction and expansion, making the temporary bridges critical for maintaining visitor access.

The project was executed on an accelerated timeline after Kokosing Construction Company, the project contractor, engaged Acrow in early March 2026. With the park’s opening day fixed for May 9, rental bridge components arrived on site later that month. Assembly of the first structure began within days, supported by an Acrow field service representative who provided on-site technical guidance. After a concrete pedestal was poured to achieve the correct elevation, the first bridge was slid into place on its bearings just 10 days after assembly began. Installation of decking and guardrails proceeded concurrently with the assembly of the second bridge, which was placed on its bearings on April 15. Both bridges opened to traffic before the opening day.
