Scheme Framework and Incentives
The Union Cabinet approved the PLI Scheme for White Goods (Air Conditioners and LED Lights) on April 7, 2021, with a total outlay of ₹6,238 crore. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) subsequently notified the scheme on April 16, 2021, for implementation from FY 2021-22 to FY 2028-29.
The scheme offers incentives ranging from 6% to 4% on incremental sales for five years after a one-year gestation period.
