Ripple invests in ZILO, Licuido as XRP ETFs tally $27.29M in July
Ripple strengthens its tokenization ecosystem through investments in ZILO and Licuido, targeting post-issuance utility for institutional assets. Concurrently, XRP ETFs maintained positive momentum with $27.29 million in July inflows, though the decelerating pace contrasts with stagnant price action near $1.06.

Ripple announced strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido on Monday, reinforcing its infrastructure for regulated asset tokenization on the XRP Ledger. These moves coincide with $27.29 million in inflows to XRP spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in July, marking the seventh consecutive month of positive investor demand since the products launched.
The investment in ZILO targets digital transfer agency and fund administration technology, enabling asset managers and custodians to maintain modern record-keeping for tokenized share classes. Licuido focuses on the issuance, distribution, and execution of traditional financial assets, allowing them to function as digital collateral through on-chain atomic settlement infrastructure. Together, these tools address post-issuance utility, a gap Ripple has sought to fill since its partnership with Aviva Investors earlier this year.
"Tokenization of assets is only the starting point: the real value lies in what can be done with a token, including buying, selling, and settling trades instantly, or using it as collateral to borrow, lend, or post margin," said Nigel Khakoo, Senior Vice President of Trading and Markets at Ripple.
Infrastructure and Market Context
Ripple’s integrated infrastructure now combines issuance, custody, collateral utility, and atomic settlement, using RLUSD as the regulated cash leg for delivery-versus-payment transactions. This setup allows tokenized funds to serve as collateral from the point of issuance and settle instantly on the XRPL.
The underlying network, XRPL, has processed more than four billion transactions since 2012. It currently supports over seven million active wallets and operates via 120 independent validators, providing the decentralized backbone for these institutional-grade financial operations.
ETF Flow Analysis
Data from SoSoValue indicates that while the pace of XRP ETF inflows is decelerating, the direction remains consistently positive. The following table outlines the monthly inflow trajectory:
| Month | Inflows |
|---|---|
| April | $81.59 million |
| May | $131.94 million |
| June | $59.46 million |
| July | $27.29 million |
The sustained positive flows suggest steady institutional accumulation, even as the asset’s price action faces technical headwinds.
What the Numbers Show
A divergence exists between capital inflows and price performance. Despite seven consecutive months of net positive ETF flows totaling over $300 million, XRP trades around $1.06, compressing into the apex of a descending channel intact since May. This suggests that institutional buying via ETFs has not yet been sufficient to break the prevailing bearish technical structure, highlighting a potential lag between order book absorption and price discovery.
Technical Outlook
XRP faces resistance at the $1.09 level, which corresponds to the 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA). A reclaim of this level is considered the minimum requirement to shift the short-term bias. Support rests at the $1.05–$1.07 floor, which has held since June but shows signs of weakening with each test. A breach below $1.05 could expose the psychological support level at $1. All four EMAs remain stacked bearishly overhead, with no crossover signals visible.
How might the integration of RLUSD as the regulated cash leg for delivery-versus-payment transactions impact the liquidity and adoption rates of tokenized assets on the XRPL?
Given the decelerating pace of XRP ETF inflows, what specific market catalysts or institutional developments are needed to sustain momentum beyond the current steady accumulation phase?
Could the divergence between consistent positive ETF flows and stagnant price action indicate a broader structural resistance in XRP's valuation, and how long might this lag persist?
