Titan Machinery Incorporated reported a narrower net loss of $12.6 million for the fiscal first quarter ended April 30, 2026, compared to a net loss of $13.2 million in the same period last year. The loss per diluted share of $0.55 beat the analyst consensus estimate of $0.68 by 17.91%. Total revenue decreased by 10.4% year-over-year to $522.4 million, driven by softer demand in domestic aggregate construction and Europe, yet surpassed the analyst consensus estimate of $485.618 million by 7.57%. Despite the revenue drop, gross profit margin improved by 180 basis points to 17.1% from 15.3%, supported by stronger equipment margins and a higher mix of parts and service revenue.

Bryan Knutson, President and Chief Executive Officer, attributed the margin improvement to progress in reducing aged inventory within the Agriculture segment. He noted that while the underlying demand environment remains challenged due to low commodity prices and higher input costs, the company is focused on strengthening its core footprint and executing disciplined operational strategies. Operating expenses decreased to $94.4 million from $96.4 million, while floorplan interest expense declined to $8.2 million from $11.1 million due to lower inventory levels subject to interest.

Adjusted EBITDA fell to $1.0 million from $2.6 million in the prior year. Segment performance showed mixed results, with the Agriculture segment reporting a pre-tax loss of $6.2 million, an improvement from a loss of $12.8 million. The Construction segment also narrowed its pre-tax loss to $0.6 million from $4.2 million. However, the Europe segment swung to a pre-tax loss of $0.9 million from income of $4.7 million, and the Australia segment reported a pre-tax loss of $1.8 million compared to a loss of $0.6 million.

Cash at the end of the quarter was approximately $30 million. Total inventories increased by $11.7 million to $914.8 million. Outstanding floorplan payables stood at $589.0 million on $1.5 billion of total available floorplan and working capital lines of credit. Net cash used for operating activities was $23.1 million, compared to net cash provided by operating activities of $6.2 million in the prior year, primarily due to the timing of inventory receipts and changing mix in floorplan financing.

Fiscal 2027 Outlook

The company reaffirmed its fiscal 2027 modeling assumptions. It expects Agriculture segment revenue to decline 15% to 20%, while Construction revenue is projected to be flat to up 5%. Europe segment revenue is forecast to decrease 20% to 25%, including the impact of winding down its German business, and Australia revenue is expected to increase 10% to 15%. Adjusted EBITDA is projected to be between $17.0 million and $29.0 million, with an adjusted net loss of $28.0 million to $40.0 million.
