Rubrik, the Security and AI Operations Company, has joined the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) to collaborate on cyber resilience and AI governance in healthcare. The partnership aims to advance the responsible development, deployment, and adoption of AI in the health sector. Healthcare organizations face heightened risks, protecting 50% more sensitive data than the global average, with cyberattacks potentially escalating into life-and-death issues by disrupting patient care.

As the healthcare industry accelerates its adoption of AI, safeguarding sensitive patient information and maintaining operational continuity are critical. Rubrik brings its expertise in data protection, cyber resilience, and enterprise AI acceleration to CHAI’s mission. The coalition focuses on fostering collaboration across industry, government, academia, and patient communities to ensure AI innovation is safe and secure.

CHAI has established working groups addressing privacy, security, transparency, usefulness, and safety of AI algorithms. The coalition recently launched its first Model Card registry to support the growth of model cards, or ‘nutrition labels’ for health AI, which simplify procurement for health systems and solution providers. CHAI includes nearly 3,000 organizations, ranging from health systems and patient advocacy groups to academia and technology providers.

Josh Howell, Healthcare Chief Technology Officer at Rubrik, emphasized the importance of strict guardrails and operational recovery for scaling AI responsibly. He stated that Rubrik aims to redefine cyber resilience and governance in collaboration with CHAI. Brian Anderson, CHAI’s CEO, welcomed Rubrik, highlighting the coalition’s commitment to unlocking AI’s potential on a foundation of trust, safety, and security.

CHAI was started by clinicians and is driven by member engagement and public feedback. The coalition is dedicated to convening dialogue to achieve consensus on responsible AI guidelines. Rubrik’s participation aligns with its focus on securing data, identities, and workloads across clouds while accelerating trusted AI agent deployments.

Rubrik has been named a Leader and positioned furthest in vision in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Backup and Data Protection Platforms. This recognition marks the seventh consecutive year the company has achieved this status. The designation validates Rubrik's focus on delivering agentic cyber resilience to protect organizations from sophisticated cyber threats and autonomous agent overreach.

Bipul Sinha, CEO, Chairman, and Co-Founder at Rubrik, stated that the company predicted twelve years ago that the greatest threat to enterprise data would be active adversaries and autonomous agents. He noted that legacy backup solutions are no longer sufficient and that organizations require complete cyber resilience spanning data protection, identity resilience, and agent governance.

The company highlighted that organizational recovery timelines often average more than twenty days, while the average breakout time for modern cybercriminals has collapsed to 39 seconds. Traditional security models focusing purely on prevention and detection are failing to keep pace with modern threat vectors.

Rubrik aims to narrow this operational recovery gap through a unified platform designed to protect and recover data, identities, and govern autonomous agents. Rubrik’s Preemptive Recovery works before an attack happens by continuously indexing data, mapping application dependencies, and tracking identity access during standard backups. This allows organizations to immediately locate clean recovery points, assess the blast radius, and execute restorations in minutes.

To address compromised credentials, Rubrik Identity Resilience continuously monitors Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Okta to surgically isolate attacker persistence while rolling forward authorized transactions. The announcement follows the launch of Rubrik AI, which delivers agentic automation against machine-speed cyber breaches and compromised AI agents.
