Greenberg Traurig LLP has expanded its litigation practice in Chicago with the appointment of Prashant Kolluri as a shareholder. The addition strengthens the firm’s capabilities in civil litigation, regulatory matters, and white-collar criminal defense by leveraging Kolluri’s extensive background as a federal prosecutor.
Kolluri joins Greenberg Traurig after nearly 12 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois. During his tenure, he served in both Civil and Criminal Divisions, holding leadership roles such as Deputy Chief of the Healthcare Fraud Section and Deputy Chief of the Violent Crimes Section.
Strategic Fit for Complex Disputes
As a first-chair trial lawyer, Kolluri has tried more than 15 cases to verdict and argued numerous appeals. His experience spans high-stakes disputes, internal investigations, and enforcement actions involving financial fraud, public corruption, money laundering, cybercrime, and False Claims Act matters.
Rita M. Powers and Meredith L. Katz, Co-Managing Shareholders of Greenberg Traurig’s Chicago office, highlighted the value of his dual perspective in a joint statement. They noted that his institutional knowledge of the government’s prosecutorial mindset provides meaningful insight into both civil and criminal litigation strategies for clients across the firm.
Background and Practice Focus
Prior to his government service, Kolluri spent six years in private practice representing clients in complex litigation, securities enforcement proceedings, class actions, and products liability disputes. At Greenberg Traurig, he will represent companies and individuals in civil litigation, regulatory matters, and white-collar criminal matters.
Kolluri cited the firm’s skilled litigation team and collaborative culture as key factors in his decision to join. He expressed intent to draw on his prosecutorial experience to help clients navigate government investigations and complex litigation challenges.
Greenberg Traurig’s Chicago office, which has operated in the city for more than 25 years, employs more than 200 lawyers. The firm globally comprises approximately 3,200 lawyers across 51 locations in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia.
