Corgi Insurance has launched Golden by Corgi, a dedicated sports and entertainment vertical designed to serve leagues, federations, clubs, events, and venues. The initiative targets the global sports industry, which generates more than $600 billion in economic activity, by addressing the specific insurance needs of sports organizations.
Golden replaces fragmented insurance programs that often involve multiple brokers, carriers, and administrators with various layers of fees. Built on Corgi's full-stack platform, the new vertical offers custom-built insurance programs, certificates of insurance issued within minutes, in-house claims handling, embedded risk support, and prevention programming tailored to the sports sector.
The vertical is led by Peter Akman and Mike T. Brown, who bring experience as former founders and professional athletes. Their leadership focuses on providing an operator's mindset and an insider's understanding of the sports ecosystem. Golden is currently working with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and Olympic programs, including USA Fencing, to support teams and governing bodies.
"Sports organizations operate in a highly specialized environment with risks that traditional commercial insurance products often fail to address," said Peter Akman, Co-Founder of Golden. "Golden was built specifically for this industry, providing organizations with a partner that understands the business of sports."
Golden provides more than twenty lines of coverage designed for the unique risks faced by teams, leagues, tournaments, facilities, and sports organizations of all sizes. Corgi Insurance, the parent company, is an AI-native insurance firm that has raised $374 million since its founding, most recently at a $2.6B valuation.
