Citizens Financial Group has expanded the responsibilities of its President, Brendan Coughlin, to include oversight of Commercial Banking. This move adds Commercial Banking to a portfolio that already includes Consumer Banking, Private Bank, and Wealth businesses, along with several enterprise functions. Ted Swimmer, Head of Commercial Banking, will report to Coughlin and continue to lead the business unit.
Bruce Van Saun, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens, stated that the decision reflects Coughlin's ability to deliver results and is a natural step in broadening his experience across the bank. Van Saun noted that the Commercial Bank is positioned for future growth under Swimmer’s leadership.
