Semtech Corporation (NASDAQ: SMTC) has begun production of the LR2022 and LR2012 transceivers, expanding its LoRa Plus family to address a broader spectrum of Internet of Things (IoT) deployment requirements. The launch brings the total number of production-ready transceivers in the LoRa Plus portfolio to three.
The new devices extend the company's offerings from cost-optimized sub-GHz sensors to global multi-band non-terrestrial network (NTN) tracking. Both the LR2022 and LR2012 utilize the same fourth-generation LoRa IP core as the existing LR2021, ensuring backward compatibility with LoRaWAN, LR-FHSS, and legacy OOK devices.
Technical Specifications
The transceivers feature best-in-class radio sensitivity and extended data rates. They support up to 125 Kbps for LoRa applications and 2 Mbps for FSK applications. This throughput enables high-speed burst data transmissions within a low-power envelope, facilitating large file transfers such as images, audio, and firmware-update-over-the-air (FUOTA) updates. The devices also support use cases requiring very low latency in proprietary wireless protocols.

Engelmann Sensor GmbH chose the LR2012 for next-generation metering solutions, leveraging the latest LoRa innovations at a competitive price point.
LoRa Global Ecosystem Forum
Semtech will host the LoRa Global Ecosystem Forum at the 2026 International Internet of Things Exhibition (IOTE) in Shenzhen, China, from Aug. 26–28. Themed "Innovate, Connect, Achieve: LoRa Connects Future Industries and Global Markets," the event brings together ecosystem partners, customers, and media to discuss adoption drivers across industrial and consumer IoT.
