- Planting over 4,000 native species
- Creating platforms, an island, and two small hills with walking tracks

- Water spread area increased by 3 times pre-monsoon and 1.5 times post-monsoon
Community Benefits
- Improved water supply for nearly 12,000 individuals, with 60% from marginalized communities
- Enhanced recreational facilities and educational opportunities
- Establishment of a learning center for nature-based activities
Mukul Kumar, Vice President (EOHS & Sustainability) at Tata Communications, stated, "What was once a dying lake has now been transformed into a thriving ecosystem supporting rich biodiversity and serving as a space for community learning and engagement."
The project's success has been validated by a study conducted by the Watershed Organisation Trust Centre for Resilience Studies (W-CReS), highlighting the initiative as a model for sustainable water management and ecosystem restoration.
Despite this positive news, Tata Communications' shares were trading down 2.67% at ₹1,864.20 on the National Stock Exchange, reflecting broader market trends rather than a direct response to this environmental initiative.
As urbanization continues to grow in Chennai's peri-urban areas, Tata Communications plans to maintain its commitment to the project through ongoing monitoring of local biodiversity and strengthening community engagement efforts.
