Thanawala brings extensive retail experience to the role, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer and President, North America of Papa John’s International, Inc. from November 2025. He previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, International at Papa John’s starting September 2024, and served as Interim Chief Executive Officer from March 2024 to August 2024.
Prior to his tenure at Papa John’s, Thanawala spent three years at Nike, Inc. as Chief Financial Officer of Nike North America from June 2020 to July 2023. He also served as Global Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Converse brand from 2018 to 2020. His earlier career includes eight years at ANN INC., where he held various finance and operations leadership roles, including CFO of the ANN INC. business.
