Titagarh Naval Systems Limited ( Titagarh Rail Systems ), a wholly owned subsidiary of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, launched the fifth and final Diving Support Craft A24 (YARD 329) for the Indian Navy on August 1, 2026. This launch completes the series of five vessels constructed under the Government of India's Make in India initiative, marking a significant milestone for private-sector naval shipbuilding in Eastern India. The launch ceremony took place at the Hooghly River in Kolkata, where the craft was side-launched at 1505 hours. Mrs. Kamal Singh, wife of Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, AVSM, NM Chief of Personnel, performed the traditional naming and launch. Approximately 200 guests attended the event. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Vessel Specifications and Role

The Diving Support Crafts are designed as catamaran-type vessels equipped with advanced, indigenously sourced systems. They are intended to support the Indian Navy's Command Clearance Diving Teams (CCDTs) in underwater operations, including inspection, repair, maintenance, and salvage activities within harbour and near-shore environments. In addition to operational deployment, the vessels will serve as training platforms for diving personnel, enhancing operational readiness.

Strategic Expansion and New Shipyard

Titagarh Naval Systems Limited is advancing its maritime growth strategy by developing a state-of-the-art, 50-acre shipyard at Falta, West Bengal. The Board of Directors has approved the transfer of the shipbuilding and maritime systems business into TNSL, which holds an approximate order book of ₹500 crore (including taxes). The new facility, aligned with Industry 4.0 standards, is engineered to handle ships up to 180 meters in length with an annual capacity of 12-16 vessels.

This restructuring allows Titagarh Rail Systems Limited to focus on its core railway systems business while empowering TNSL to pursue aggressive growth in shipbuilding. TNSL is actively exploring partnerships with strategic collaborators and investors to accelerate scaling under various Government of India maritime initiatives.

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited has entered into a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with TuTr Hyperloop Private Limited, an IIT Madras-incubated deep-tech startup, to develop India's first Hyperloop-enabled freight mobility solutions. Announced on July 2, 2026, the partnership aims to combine Titagarh's expertise in rolling stock manufacturing with TuTr Hyperloop's capabilities in propulsion and advanced mobility technologies to create high-speed, energy-efficient cargo transportation systems. This initiative supports national objectives such as Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat by focusing on indigenous design and manufacturing.

The agreement establishes a structured framework to evaluate, design, and integrate Hyperloop technology for freight markets.
