Jagsonpal Finance Announces Proposed Acquisition of Welcast Finstocks, Awaits RBI Approval

Sep 10, 2025Jagsonpal Finance and Leasing Limited announced its intent to acquire Welcast Finstocks Pvt Ltd, a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), subject to regulatory approvals including from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The acquisition aims to enhance Jagsonpal's lending capabilities with a focus on education finance, particularly for overseas education financing. The deal will combine Welcast's retail and SME lending expertise with Jagsonpal's technology-driven platform. Chairman and Managing Director Karthik Srinivasan stated the acquisition will help build a more agile, tech-driven NBFC to serve India's evolving financial needs. Jagsonpal has initiated the approval process under RBI's Master Direction for NBFCs, which requires prior written permission for acquisitions involving 26% or more equity. The company will provide further updates as the approval process advances.
