Prince Reza Pahlavi and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre will join more than 3,000 attendees at a major Iranian-Canadian gathering in Toronto on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

The event, titled Cyrus the Great II: From a Great Civilization to a Greater Future, is organized by the Cyrus the Great Cultural & Humanity Organization. It aims to unite political leaders, community representatives, and artists around themes of human rights and national unity.

Political and Civic Participation

Several sitting Members of Parliament from both the Conservative and Liberal parties are expected to attend. Representation from the Prime Minister’s Office is also anticipated. Leaders from Jewish and other Canadian communities will participate in the program.

The gathering combines political speeches with cultural performances by prominent Iranian artists. Dr. Alan Bostakian, spokesperson for the organization, noted that the event draws its name from the ancient Persian king associated with tolerance and religious diversity.

Context and Mobilization

This year’s event follows significant mobilization efforts by the organization. In February 2026, the Global Day of Action brought more than 350,000 demonstrators to Toronto and mobilized over one million participants worldwide in solidarity with Iran’s Lion-and-Sun Revolution.

The September 19 program takes place amid continuing conflict and heightened geopolitical tensions surrounding Iran. The organization states the event offers journalists a unique opportunity to hear directly from Iranian-Canadian community leaders and exiles about their perspectives on the current crisis.

The program begins at 2:30 p.m., with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. The venue is Meridian Hall, located at 1 Front Street East, Toronto.
