Global economist and member of the United Kingdom's House of Lords, Dambisa Moyo, has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Economic Club of New York. The appointment places Moyo at the helm of the non-partisan forum, which has served as a platform for discussing economic and political forces since 1907. Moyo succeeds previous leadership and aims to address pressing global economic trends, including artificial intelligence, shifting geopolitics, the energy transition, and the future of global financial markets.

Dr. Moyo brings extensive board experience to the role, currently serving as a director for The Chevron Corporation, Conde Nast, Starbucks Coffee Company, and the National Geographic Society. She also sits on the investment committee of the Oxford University Endowment. An author of five best-selling books, Moyo's work focuses on the macroeconomy, geopolitics, and global financial markets.

The Economic Club of New York has a history of hosting prominent figures from various sectors. Over more than 100 years, the Club has hosted over one thousand speakers, including US Presidents, international Heads of State, and business leaders.
