PM Modi Spotlights CG Power and Kaynes Tech in India's Semiconductor Manufacturing Push

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the progress of CG Power and Kaynes Tech in India's burgeoning semiconductor manufacturing sector during his address at Semicon India 2025. The event, which has drawn over 20,750 attendees from more than 48 countries, serves as a platform to showcase India's strides in the critical tech industry.

CG Power's Semiconductor Venture

Modi revealed that CG SEMI, a venture of CG Power, has already commenced its pilot phase, with commercial chip production expected to begin later this year. CG Power, through its subsidiary CG Semi Private Venture Ltd, has partnered with Renesas Electronics Corporation to manufacture semiconductors at its Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat.

The company is making a substantial investment of Rs 7,600.00 crore over five years to construct two facilities. These plants are projected to have a combined production capacity of 0.50 million units daily. The G1 facility is currently in its pilot phase, with commercial volumes promised before the end of 2025.

Kaynes Tech's OSAT Facility and Expansion

Kaynes Tech also received a mention in the Prime Minister's address, with Modi stating that the company's plant is set to begin pilot operations soon. The tech firm has received government approval for its OSAT facility in Sanand, Gujarat, backed by a Rs 3,300.00 crore investment.

In a move to further expand its manufacturing footprint, Kaynes Tech has announced plans for a new manufacturing plant in Bhopal. This facility, which will be developed under the Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Policy, represents an investment of Rs 352.00 crore.

India's Semiconductor Ambitions

CG Power's Upcoming Investor Meeting

This meeting, disclosed in compliance with SEBI regulations, suggests ongoing investor interest in the company's semiconductor ventures.
