Revenue from operations rose 58.1% YoY to ₹2,431.36 lakh, supported by a profitable power segment and insurance settlements. Statutory auditors flagged going concern risks due to negative net worth, though SPCPL continues to provide financial support via perpetual loans.

Gokak Textiles Limited reported a narrowed standalone net loss of ₹401.31 lakh for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1FY27), compared to a loss of ₹1,145.65 lakh in the corresponding period of FY26. The improvement was driven by higher revenue from operations, which rose 58.1% year-on-year to ₹2,431.36 lakh, and an exceptional insurance settlement of ₹110.60 lakh. However, the company continues to face material uncertainty regarding its going concern status due to negative net worth and accumulated losses of ₹26,879.05 lakh, relying on continued financial support from Shapoorji Pallonji And Company Private Limited (SPCPL). In a strategic move to streamline operations, the Board approved the permanent closure and sale of its knitwear unit at Marihal, Belagavi.
The financial results were reviewed by the Audit Committee and approved by the Board on August 11, 2026, in compliance with Regulation 30 and 33 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Batliboi & Purohit, the statutory auditors, issued an unmodified limited review report but highlighted the material uncertainty surrounding the company’s ability to continue as a going concern due to current liabilities exceeding current assets by ₹4,825.17 lakh. The results were prepared on a going concern basis, contingent upon the ongoing operational and financial support from SPCPL.
Key Financial Highlights
The company’s total income increased to ₹2,536.53 lakh from ₹1,718.12 lakh in Q1FY26. Despite the revenue growth, total expenses remained high at ₹3,048.44 lakh, primarily driven by finance costs of ₹743.03 lakh, which included penal charges of ₹158.23 lakh levied by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) for delays in Debt Service Reserve Account (DSRA) compliance. The power segment contributed significantly to the turnaround, reporting a segment result of ₹252.80 lakh profit before tax, compared to a loss of ₹436.36 lakh in the previous year.

Knitwear Unit Closure and Sale
The Board approved the permanent closure of the knitwear unit located at Bagalkot Road, Village Marihal, subject to regulatory and labor approvals. The unit, established in 1995, had seen declining performance due to structural cost disadvantages, machinery obsolescence, and industrial relations issues. On September 9, 2025, the company entered into a sale agreement with M/s V. G. Parekh & Co. for ₹19.50 crore, covering land, buildings, and machinery. An advance of ₹950 lakh has already been received. The knitwear business contributed ₹422.73 lakh (9.76%) to total revenue in FY26 but held a negative net worth of ₹4,192.55 lakh as of March 31, 2026.
What the Numbers Show
The divergence between the textile and power segments highlights the company’s shifting revenue dynamics. While the textile division posted a segment loss of ₹654.11 lakh, the power segment turned profitable with a result of ₹252.80 lakh before tax, up from a loss of ₹436.36 lakh in Q1FY26. This turnaround in the power segment was aided by the receipt of ₹110.60 lakh in final insurance claims for fire and lightning incidents that occurred between January and August 2025. However, the overall financial health remains fragile, with finance costs consuming nearly 30% of total income, indicating that debt servicing remains a primary pressure point despite recent capital injections from SPCPL in the form of perpetual loans aggregating to ₹380.00 lakh and conversion of borrowings of ₹595.92 lakh.
