The planned study aims to expand the clinical evaluation of CAD-1005 into an acute-care setting while generating data relevant to Cadrenal's lead Phase 3-ready program in heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT). HIT is an immune response to the blood thinner heparin, resulting in blood clots that can cause death, amputation, stroke, and increased healthcare costs. The Phase 2a trial is designed to generate safety data, renal injury signals, and 12-LOX pathway biology in high-risk cardiac surgery patients.

Strategic Development and Collaboration

The development of CAD-1005 for CSA-AKI represents a new high-value indication for the Phase 3-ready asset. Cadrenal expects the data to support clinical development and strategic partnering discussions. The Company is positioned to leverage shared in-hospital ICU infrastructure and an intravenous (IV) formulation to create a turnkey critical care franchise for a global pharmaceutical partner.
