CE Info Systems Limited, the company behind MapmyIndia and Mappls, has unveiled innovative features in its Mappls App, positioning it as India's first navigation app to offer AI-powered live traffic signal timers and NHAI annual toll pass savings information. These new features aim to enhance driving safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness for Indian commuters.

Real-Time Traffic Signal Timers

In a pioneering move, CE Info Systems has partnered with Bengaluru Traffic Police and Arcadis to integrate over 125 smart signals across Bengaluru into the Mappls App. This integration allows users to view real-time signal countdowns up to 500 meters in advance, displaying green, amber, and red light durations directly on the navigation screen.

Mr. Karthik Reddy (IPS), Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Bengaluru, emphasized the significance of this feature: "The integration of AI-powered Live Traffic Signal Timers in partnership with MapmyIndia and Arcadis is a major step forward in enhancing traffic management in Bengaluru. For the first time in India, commuters can now view real-time signal countdowns directly on the Mappls app, which will help them plan better, reduce uncertainty, and improve road discipline."

NHAI Annual Toll Pass Savings

In collaboration with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Mappls App now displays potential toll cost savings using the NHAI Annual Toll Pass before a trip starts. This feature enables drivers to make informed decisions about their routes and potential cost savings.

Mr. A.R. Chitranshi, COO of IHMCL (the technological arm of NHAI), stated, "Our collaboration with MapmyIndia Mappls to integrate NHAI Annual Toll Pass saving and Toll Road Distance Tracking into their navigation app aligns with our vision to make highway travel more efficient, transparent, and cost-effective."

Toll Road Distance Tracking

The app has introduced a new feature that shows the total kilometers traveled on toll roads, providing users with greater transparency and helping them in better travel planning and budgeting.

Availability and Future Plans

These new features are currently live on the Mappls MapmyIndia iOS app, with an Android rollout planned in the near future. The company aims to expand the live traffic signal integration to other cities across India.

Rakesh Verma, Co-Founder, Managing Director and Group Chairman of MapmyIndia Mappls, commented on the launch: "At MapmyIndia Mappls, our mission is to make navigation safer, smarter, and more efficient for every Indian. These innovations will not only help commuters save time, money and stress but also lay the foundation for a smarter mobility ecosystem in India."

With these advancements, CE Info Systems continues to push the boundaries of digital navigation in India, combining real-time traffic intelligence, cost-saving tools, and enhanced transparency for road users. The Mappls App is not only redefining how Indians navigate but also paving the way for safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility across the country.
