Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed strong confidence in India's semiconductor ambitions on December 25, stating that despite a late entry into the industry, the country will soon achieve self-reliance and begin exporting semiconductors. Shah acknowledged India's delayed entry into the semiconductor sector but remained optimistic about future prospects. "We have made a strong entry into the semiconductor industry, although a bit late. In no time, we will not only become self-reliant in the semiconductor sector, but will also start exporting it," he stated during his address.
The minister highlighted India's remarkable achievements in digital transactions, noting that 46% of global digital transactions took place in India during 2024-25. He also mentioned that India's foreign exchange reserves have crossed $700.00 billion, demonstrating the country's strong economic foundation for technological advancement.
