Pyxis and Singapore River Cruise (SRC) launched Pyxis L on Sept. 4, 2026, reimagining the traditional bumboat as a venue for private dining and events along the Singapore River.

The vessel pairs a fully air-conditioned interior with rooftop solar panels that reduce reliance on shore power.

A river bumboat built for hosting

Pyxis L features a bespoke hospitality space designed for private dining, events, and curated river journeys. The interior accommodates 24 guests indoors and 12 outdoors.

The vessel can travel for up to 8.5 hours between charges, sufficient for evening dining or scenic loops past the river’s shophouses and bridges.

Solar power that works while you cruise

Ten solar panels built into the roof generate close to 5.8 kW of power during the day. This reduces the frequency and volume of shore power draws. Surplus energy generated by the panels can be exported back to the grid.

When requiring a full charge, Pyxis L uses 10 kW shore charging, taking about six to seven hours. Charging is faster when solar charging runs alongside it. Operators monitor the vessel via Electra, Pyxis’s digital platform for remote monitoring.

Built in Singapore, for the Singapore River

Built in Singapore, Pyxis L is the newest addition to Pyxis’s electric vessel line-up. It utilizes the same catamaran hull form, core electric propulsion, battery, and digital systems platform, adapted for a purpose-built hospitality experience.

Part of a longer track record

Pyxis L follows several milestones for the Singapore-based maritime electrification start-up, which launched in 2022:

• March 2024: Unveiled X Tron, Singapore’s first fully electric port passenger launch.
• Late 2024: Opened the first public marine electric charging point at Marina South Pier with SP Group.
• 2025: Introduced Pyxis R, Singapore’s first solar-powered river boat.

Commercial traction

SRC has confirmed an order for a second Pyxis L from Pyxis, expanding the new river cruise offering within its fleet.

What the Numbers Show

The confirmed order for a second Pyxis L indicates immediate commercial validation of the platform. By adapting an existing electric propulsion and battery architecture into a hospitality-specific vessel, Pyxis demonstrates asset reuse efficiency, leveraging prior R&D investments in the X Tron and Pyxis R platforms to enter the high-margin private events segment without developing a new hull from scratch.

Pipeline Update

Pyxis Oncology is advancing micvotabart pelidotin (MICVO), a first-in-concept antibody-drug conjugate targeting extradomain-B of fibronectin (EDB+FN). This target is selectively overexpressed in the tumor microenvironment of various solid tumors but largely absent from normal adult tissues.

MICVO employs a three-pronged mechanism of action: direct cancer cell killing, bystander effect, and immunogenic cell death. The candidate is currently being evaluated as a monotherapy in a Phase 1 clinical study for patients with recurrent and metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (R/M HNSCC).

Additionally, MICVO is under investigation in combination with Merck’s KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab) in a Phase 1/2 study for R/M HNSCC and other solid tumors. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted Fast Track Designation to MICVO for treating adult patients with R/M HNSCC whose disease progressed following platinum-based chemotherapy and anti-PD-(L)1 therapy.
