Vakrangee Limited reported a 39.3% quarter-on-quarter increase in Profit After Tax (PAT) to ₹225.6 lakh for Q1 FY27, driven by significant margin expansion and a strategic shift toward higher-margin financial services. While total income declined by 1.6% to ₹5,790.2 lakh due to the reduction of low-margin businesses, EBITDA grew by 24.9% to ₹861.9 lakh, with margins improving by 330 basis points to 15.4%. The company remained debt-free as of June 30, 2026.
The results were filed pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, on July 29, 2026. The unaudited financial statements reflect consolidated figures for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
Financial Performance
The company’s profitability improved sharply despite a slight dip in top-line revenue. Cash profit also rose by 16.0% to ₹680.0 lakh from ₹586.1 lakh in Q4 FY26. The divergence between revenue decline and profit growth highlights the impact of operational efficiency and product mix changes.

Business Segment Breakdown
Revenue from operations stood at ₹55.9 crore. The Business Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) segment contributed the largest share at 56.9%, followed by Sale of ATM Product/Service at 12.9%, ATM services at 24.0%, and E-Commerce & Other Services at 6.2%.
Gross Transaction Value (GTV) processed exceeded ₹14,560 crore across 23,276 outlets in 609 districts. BFSI accounted for 84.6% of the total GTV of approximately ₹14,056.4 crore, while ATM services contributed 15.3%. The platform processed 2.8 crore transactions in the quarter.
Strategic Initiatives & Vortex Engineering
Subsidiary Vortex Engineering delivered 139 ATMs in Q1 FY27, compared to 217 in Q4 FY26. Its total income decreased to ₹908.6 lakh from ₹1,100.6 lakh in the previous quarter. However, management noted strong revenue visibility for upcoming quarters due to new ATM and Perfo software orders from Public Sector Banks. The high-margin IP software business continues to show growth and profitability.
The company highlighted 12 strategic alliances secured during April 2025–June 2026, including seven insurance partnerships, five lending partnerships, and three major ATM shipment mandates for Vortex. It also operationalized new banking partners, expanding its network to more than 15,000 Banking Correspondent (BC) points enabling AePS-based biometric services. To date, the company has facilitated over 30 million PMJDY accounts across India.
Vakrangee is launching an upgraded Beta Trial Version of the “BharatEasy” Mobile Super App, evolving into an Online-to-Offline (O2O) platform. This app integrates physical Kendra network assistance with digital services, offering multi-category offerings such as online shopping, healthcare, banking, insurance, money transfer, bill payments, loan products, mutual funds, travel, entertainment, agri products, courier services, and online education.
What the Numbers Show
The most critical insight from these results is the decoupling of revenue growth from profitability. Vakrangee’s decision to reduce low-margin business volume has directly enhanced bottom-line metrics, evidenced by the 330 bps jump in EBITDA margins despite a contraction in total income. This suggests a deliberate strategy to prioritize quality over scale, leveraging its extensive physical network for higher-yield financial services rather than volume-driven transactions.

How will the transition to the 'BharatEasy' O2O super app impact user acquisition costs and long-term customer retention compared to traditional transaction-based models?
What is the expected timeline for the new ATM and Perfo software orders from Public Sector Banks to materially offset the decline in Vortex Engineering's quarterly revenue?
Could the deliberate reduction in low-margin business volume lead to a saturation point where top-line growth stagnates, potentially affecting market valuation multiples?
