Tata Technologies has launched the 4th edition of its flagship engineering innovation hackathon, InnoVent-27, in collaboration with Emerson's Test & Measurement business and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Announced on June 4, 2026, the event provides engineering students in India a platform to develop innovative solutions using advanced computing. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial application by addressing real-world challenges in the automotive, industrial heavy machinery, and aerospace sectors.

The theme for this year's competition is 'AI at the Edge'. Participants are challenged to conceptualize and build localized, real-time intelligence solutions that enhance performance, safety, sustainability, and autonomy. Applications may include ADAS and autonomous systems, predictive maintenance, smart manufacturing, digital twins, intelligent inspection, and energy-efficient mobility solutions.

The hackathon is open to 3rd and 4th year engineering students, with a specific emphasis on encouraging inclusive participation from women engineers and differently abled members. The evaluation process will occur in three stages: initial concept screening, virtual Proof of Concept (PoC) presentations, and final prototype live demonstrations. Projects will be assessed on novelty, feasibility, diversity, and potential real-world impact.

To support the development of these innovations, Tata Technologies' Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will provide technical mentorship. The company has announced a range of incentives for participants, including cumulative cash prizes worth INR 4.5 Lakhs and job opportunities for top performers. Winners will also receive AWS Kits, access to cloud computing services, NI test & measurement tools, and sponsor awards such as the Breakthrough Idea Award and Best Prototype Award.

Komal Chhabra, SVP - Strategy, Marketing & Corporate Development at Tata Technologies, highlighted the strategic intent behind the event, stating that AI at the Edge represents the future direction of automotive, aerospace, and industrial engineering. Shitendra Bhattacharya, Country Head & Director at Emerson Test and Measurement, noted that robust validation is critical for edge AI, a gap their software-defined test solutions aim to fill. Kunal Matt from AWS emphasized the role of combining cloud computing with edge AI to transform modern industrial sectors.

Tata Technologies has filed its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for the financial year 2025-26 with BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited. The filing, submitted on June 3, 2026, includes an Independent Practitioners’ Reasonable Assurance Report provided by KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP on the sustainability disclosures in the BRSR Core Format. The report is prepared on a consolidated basis and forms an integral part of the company's Annual Report for FY 2025-26.

The company reported a total workforce of 14,280 employees, comprising 11,706 permanent and 2,574 other-than-permanent staff. The gender diversity among permanent employees stood at 16.51% female representation. Tata Technologies stated that it does not track Scope 3 emissions currently, while its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission intensity was reported at 0.51 tonnes of CO2e per full-time equivalent (FTE), a decrease from 0.66 in the previous financial year.

Environmental Performance

The BRSR details the company's environmental impact, noting that for FY 2025–26, information relating to the associate entity BMW TechWorks India Private Limited has been reported for applicable BRSR Core attributes. However, ES-Tec GmbH has been excluded from the reporting boundary as the acquisition was completed in November 2025; the company stated this omission is not material. In instances where primary data for environmental metrics was unavailable, particularly for leased facilities, estimation techniques based on internal benchmarks were applied.

Governance and Assurance

KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP provided reasonable assurance on the BRSR Core indicators for FY 2025-26. The assurance engagement was conducted in accordance with International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3000 (Revised). The report confirms that the sustainability disclosures are prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with Regulation 34(2)(f) of SEBI LODR and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
