NTPC Limited announced that its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) declared the commercial operation of 50 MW solar capacity on October 2, 2026. This addition comprises the fourth part of the solar component under a 200 MW RE Round The Clock (RTC) project in Rajasthan.

The newly commissioned 50 MW unit is part of the cumulative 300 MW solar component of the RTC project. It is developed by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of the joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited. The commercial operation was declared effective from 00:00 hours on October 2, 2026.

This development follows the recent commissioning of 153.94 MW solar capacity at the Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on October 1, 2026. Prior to that, the group added 81.34 MW solar capacity at the same site on September 26, 2026, and 56.7 MW wind capacity in Gujarat on September 22, 2026.
