Mastercard has expanded its global lifestyle platform, Priceless.com, to Africa, offering Mastercard cardholders worldwide access to curated travel experiences across nine markets. The launch covers South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritius, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe, aiming to boost engagement in Africa's digital travel economy. This expansion allows travellers to explore the continent through a premium lens, with experiences categorized into culture and creativity, culinary, nature and wildlife, and adventure.
The launch aligns with the growth of Africa's travel sector, which welcomed 81 million international tourists in 2025, marking an 8% year-on-year increase according to UN Tourism. Mastercard and its partners are supporting this growth by providing secure and seamless payments alongside distinctive experiences. The platform offers various travel benefits, including hotel and flight savings, airport lounge access, and booking options across leading travel platforms.
Curated Experiences
Priceless Africa features a range of exclusive activities designed to connect travellers with local culture and heritage. Specific experiences include hot air balloon rides over Amboseli, candlelight walks at Cape Coast Castle, and gorilla trekking in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park or Uganda’s Bwindi forests. Other offerings include Bedouin dinners in the Agafay Desert, hiking Mauritius’ Le Morne Brabant, sailing Menai Bay on a traditional dhow, and rhino tracking in Matobo Hills. Availability of these experiences varies by market and is subject to change.
Strategic Campaign and Rollout
The initiative is anchored by Mastercard's "You Have To Be Here" travel campaign, a continent-wide creative platform launched on June 18 to inspire cardholders through storytelling and content series. The campaign is set to run until December 2026. Priceless Africa is currently live on Priceless.com in select markets, with a full rollout across all nine markets and additional experiences planned throughout 2026 as Mastercard expands its footprint in the region.
