Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID) is undergoing a significant restructuring following the release of its second-quarter production and delivery figures. The company reported producing 4,774 vehicles and delivering 3,953 units during the quarter ended June 30. CEO Silvio Napoli announced a sweeping executive shakeup aimed at sharpening execution and accountability by halving the number of direct reports to the CEO and simplifying the organizational structure.
Leadership Changes
The reorganization includes several key appointments designed to strengthen leadership across critical functions. Raja Ramana Macha joins as CTO, most recently serving as EVP and CTO at Eaton, where he led global innovation across multiple sectors including automotive. Billy Hayes has been appointed Chief Customer Officer, effective immediately, with accountability for sales, service, marketing, and regional P&L across the U.S., Middle East, and Europe. Hayes brings over 25 years of automotive experience, including senior roles at Nissan and Stellantis.
Additionally, Kay Stepper has been named President of Lucid Technologies and Chief Digital Officer. In this role, Stepper will oversee robotaxis, AI, autonomy, and ADAS. Lucid Technologies will operate as a distinct business unit focused on strategic partnerships and advanced technologies. Alexander De Bock joins as incoming CFO, replacing Taoufiq Boussaid, who will depart following a handover. De Bock brings over two decades of automotive finance leadership, including a turnaround role as CFO of TI Automotive.
Strategic Focus and Market Reaction
Napoli emphasized that the changes are intended to align the company's structure with its core priorities. "We are simplifying the organization, strengthening leadership, enforcing accountability and aligning our structure with the priorities that matter most: customers, quality, and innovation," said Napoli.
Lucid is scheduled to report its Q2 earnings on August 4. Following the announcements, Lucid shares are trading lower by more than 4% on Friday as investors digest the execution updates and leadership changes. The stock is down 3.77% at $5.61 at the time of publication. Technical indicators show the stock is trading below its 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day simple moving averages, maintaining a longer-term downtrend.
