Hindustan Unilever Limited shareholders approved all seven resolutions at the 93rd Annual General Meeting held on June 30, 2026. The meeting confirmed a total dividend of ₹41 per equity share, comprising an interim dividend of ₹19 and a final dividend of ₹22. The re-appointment of Directors Mr. Nitin Paranjpe, Mr. Niranjan Gupta, and Mr. B. P. Biddappa was approved, along with Ms. Ashu Suyash as an Independent Director for a second term of five years. Chairman Nitin Paranjpe delivered a speech titled "Resilience to Reinvention", outlining the company's strategic moats to navigate simultaneous disruptions in geopolitics, technology, and climate change.
Strategic Moats for Future Growth
Paranjpe detailed five pillars essential for business resilience: embedding AI across the enterprise, leveraging science-led innovation, building flexible supply chains, understanding the fast-evolving consumer, and treating sustainability as a competitive advantage. He highlighted that India remains the fastest-growing major economy, with the IMF projecting 6.5 per cent growth for calendar year 2026, driven by a young population, unparalleled digital penetration, and a proactive policy environment.
AI Integration and Digital Transformation
The company is deploying Artificial Intelligence across its value chain through platforms like Sangam for market-mix modelling and Shikhar, an eB2B platform for kirana stores that contributes to over a third of total sales. The Samadhan model has reduced delivery times in metros to under 24 hours. HUL now has six World Economic Forum (WEF) Lighthouse factories, the highest for any Indian FMCG company. Recent recognitions include the Haridwar factory for Supply Chain resilience and the Sonapat factory for Sustainability, which reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 99 per cent.
Innovation and Supply Chain Resilience
Science-led innovations such as Stratos, a skincare technology backed by 20 patents, are reducing reliance on imported oils while lowering GHG emissions. The company has also piloted the production of near-zero emission soda ash using green ammonia. Under Project Nakshatra, HUL is redesigning its supply chain for proximity and speed, establishing multi-category factories closer to demand centres to ensure business continuity amidst global disruptions.
