Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has appointed Jon Vigue as its new Park President, effective immediately. The leadership change occurs during a period of significant expansion, marked by a more than $100 million investment in new attractions and park enhancements. Vigue brings nearly 30 years of experience to the role, having previously served at Wild Adventures Theme Park in Georgia and Lake Compounce Theme Park.

Strategic Investment and Expansion

The park is currently executing a major capital investment strategy focused on new attractions, immersive animal experiences, and guest amenities. Recent additions include Wild Oasis, a family adventure area that debuted in 2025. Opening this year, Lion and Hyena Ridge represents the park's largest and most immersive animal habitat in more than a decade. This new realm features five young male lions and a pair of hyenas within 270-degree viewing areas, water features, and elevated rocky overlooks.

Leadership Profile

Vigue is an industry veteran with a strong reputation for operational leadership and team development. His career includes nearly two decades at Lake Compounce Theme Park, where he contributed to the property's revitalization. He has been actively involved with the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) since 2007, most recently serving as Chair of the Food & Beverage Committee for North America.

Summer Offerings and Events

The park continues its momentum with the return of the Summer Nights event, running through Aug. 9. The event features all-new entertainment, extended evening hours, and the debut of the Beach Bash show. Nighttime offerings include the Wild Skies: Drone Show & Fireworks Spectacular, utilizing 400 synchronized drones. A patriotic production honoring America's 250th Birthday will be followed by a Busch Gardens-exclusive drone spectacular debuting July 10.
