(NASDAQ: AVAV) has secured an $80.5 million contract award for its Titan™ MS (Multi-Sensor) system to support Joint Interagency Task Force 401’s (JIATF-401) Domestic Shield Program. This order is executed against a previously announced three-year, $500 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) sole-source contract. The selection advances the United States Air Force Global Strike Command’s layered base defense capabilities against small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS) threats, cementing the Titan family as a global benchmark in counter-UAS solutions.

Contract Execution and Strategic Context

The $500 million IDIQ framework enables the delivery of systems to enhance air defense capabilities. The specific $80.5 million purchase order for the Titan™ MS system follows a previous JIATF-401 procurement of a Titan C-UAS system. Domestic Shield is the Department of War’s initiative to strengthen C-UAS protection for defense critical infrastructure, with JIATF-401 prioritizing sites based on threat, criticality, and vulnerability.

Titan System Capabilities

Titan-MS is an AI-powered, multi-sensor fusion solution designed to detect, identify, track, defeat, and report on unmanned system threats. Suitable for air, sea, and land environments, the system fuses AI and machine learning algorithms from industry-leading sensors to counter both RF-controlled and autonomous drone threats. Operational Momentum and Deployment

The Titan family, including Titan3™, Titan4™, and Titan-SV™, is operationally deployed in 17 countries worldwide. During the quarter, AeroVironment delivered 118 Titan 4 systems and 400 Titan-SV systems globally, adding three new international customers. Recent federal policy changes, including the President’s Executive Order "Restoring American Airspace Sovereignty" and the SAFER SKIES Act, are enabling broader deployment of compliant counter-drone capabilities. AeroVironment continues to execute task orders under the IDIQ contract framework to meet the urgent requirements of the Department of War and interagency partners.
