(NASDAQ: AVAV) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ubiqconn Technology Inc., a Taiwan-based rugged controller and industrial computing solutions provider, to advance collaboration on uncrewed systems and mission management capabilities in support of Taiwan's defense modernization. The partnership aims to develop a common controller ecosystem based on AV's Tomahawk Common Control Ecosystem to meet Taiwan Ministry of National Defense requirements, including the procurement of tens of thousands of domestically produced drones. This integration is designed to reduce training burden, simplify sustainment, and ensure interoperability across Taiwan's growing drone fleet.

Collaboration Details

Under the MOU, AV will install and configure its Kinesis mission management software, part of the AV_Halo COMMAND command-and-control suite, onto Ubiqconn's rugged controller platform. This will enable operators to control multiple types of uncrewed aircraft systems from various original equipment manufacturers through a common, scalable interface. AV will provide a fully-integrated system, including access to its KxM module, along with training and technical support to facilitate demonstrations and future integration activities.

Ubiqconn will supply the physical UAS controller hardware for Kinesis integration and functional testing. The company will also share technical input on UAS platforms commonly operated within Taiwan's defense community to inform controller compatibility priorities. Ubiqconn is tasked with leading in-market demonstrations and outreach to Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense and other government stakeholders to shape emerging common controller requirements.

Strategic Objectives

The collaboration leverages AV's battle-proven mission software and Ubiqconn's advanced rugged controller technology to create integrated, networked uncrewed solutions tailored to Taiwan's defense needs. By engaging domestic drone OEMs, the partners aim to expand the Kinesis compatibility database to include locally produced UAS. This initiative follows AV's strategic collaboration with Taiwan's National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology announced in September 2025, which focused on strengthening the unmanned and precision-strike ecosystem.
