Ramco Cements' HardWorker Brand Wins Twin Golds

22 hours agoThe Ramco Cements Limited's construction chemicals brand HardWorker secured two Gold awards at the ET Brand Equity Shark Awards 2025-South Chapter for its innovative marketing campaigns.
The Income Tax Department has filed appeals against Ramco Cements at Madras High Court for assessment year 2011-12, disputing Rs. 7.35 crores related to revenue expenditure treated as capital expenditure and Rs. 3.76 crores concerning industrial promotion assistance classification. The company also has similar pending disputes totaling Rs. 29.20 crores at the High Court level.
The Income Tax Department has filed appeals against Ramco Cements at Madras High Court for assessment year 2015-16, challenging tribunal orders on revenue expenditure classification and industrial promotion assistance treatment. The disputed tax amounts total Rs. 17.82 crores across two issues, with the appeals admitted by the court on 17/11/2025, adding to existing similar disputes worth Rs. 29.20 crores.

About Ramco Cements
The Ramco Cements Limited, formerly known as Madras Cements Limited, is an Indian company primarily engaged in the manufacture of cement, ready mix concrete, and dry mortar products. It is the fifth largest cement producer in India with a total production capacity of 19.40 million MTPA across 10 facilities. The company mainly serves domestic markets but also exports to Sri Lanka and Maldives. Ramco Cements operates one of the largest wind farms in India and sells surplus electricity. The company has two subsidiaries: Ramco Windfarms Limited and Ramco Industrial and Technology Services Limited. Its product range includes various types of cement, dry mix products, and ready-mix concrete. The company has undergone several expansions and modernizations over the years, including the establishment of new plants, capacity upgrades, and the addition of power generation facilities.
