Current KYV Process and Its Challenges
The existing KYV verification system was introduced to ensure proper linking between each FASTag and its corresponding vehicle while preventing misuse. Under the current process, vehicle owners must upload photographs of their cars showing the number plate and FASTag placement, along with registration certificate details. However, this system has created significant inconveniences for users.
The current framework has affected lakhs of car owners who have experienced delays and additional verification requirements even after submitting all correct vehicle documents. Many users have had to repeat the process multiple times, leading to extended follow-ups and activation delays despite providing valid documentation.
